ROCÍO 2022 fabric hanging.

Hanging based on the poster of the next Romería del Rocío 2022. The work is a mixed media (acrylic, oil and gold paste) on board previously
treated. Surrounded by the natural environment of Doñana in which appear among a sketchy grove, various native birds, butterflies and other species, alluding to the design of their new processional platforms, we are presented with the Mother of God, the Holy Virgin of Doñana. Virgin of El Rocío and her divine Redeemer, facing the viewer. Flanked on both sides by the magical light given off by the flares of that Holy Rosary that precedes its triumphal exit through the Village. Right at its feet the word ROMERÍA, the one we long for so much and in which each letter contains scenes of the same, from the departure of the Simpecado de Almonte with the horsemen, the flow of carts, the pilgrims along the roads, the exciting sounds of the drummers, or the monument of the Virgin in the Real until arriving at her Sanctuary. Finally, two lions guarding the word ROCIO stand out in the composition. Two ornamental elements that also appear embossed on the new processional platforms of the Virgen del Rocío and symbolize the people of Almonte, as “Lions of Love” and faithful custodians of devotion to the Blanca Paloma.
